I’m Colby Mathis, a mental health counselor who is passionate about helping those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and spiritual issues. While I’m totally open to exploring your needs and adjusting my preferences, my ideal client is aged thirteen – fifty with a special focus on males and masculinity. Asking for help is difficult, particularly so for men. As a male who has struggled with anxiety throughout my life, I am passionate about helping open the door to healing for men.
I grew up in the beautiful Methow Valley where I cherished the small town culture. After graduating from high school, I stuck around a few years while working at the local grocery store and pursuing my transfer degree from Wenatchee Valley College. I went on to receive my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Eastern Washington University in 2015. Then I and began my first job in the mental health field as a case manager in community behavioral health while I worked towards my Masters in Professional Counseling online through Liberty University, graduating in 2018. I am thankful for my time working in community mental health as it allowed me to gain experience in crisis response, group counseling, and with a variety of populations from elementary-age kids to elderly adults.
Currently I live in Twisp with my wife, two sons, dachshund, cat, and 7 chickens. We are striving to grow our own food and be more and more self sufficient!
